Pallavi Gupta Bhowmick – A memory keeper, always ready to take pictures, an ardent “Netflix” fan

My rendezvous with Analytics started very early in my career; my first assignment was to manage acquisition and lifecycle campaigns for a Fortune 5 client. It turned out to be high risks and high returns game and set the tone for my career. Analytics turned out to be my second love (right after my man!) because it is as much an art as it is a science – just the way I like it!

While analytics has a lot to give to every function, the one closest to my heart is Digital – it fascinates me how some innocent individual clicks come together to weave business strategies for Internet giants. On the flipside, as a customer, the fact that my digital footprint is being churned for offer recommendations, freaks me out sometimes! But at the end of the day, with all these advancements, I think it’s a great time to be alive!

I’ve been very fortunate with my career in analytics and I attribute my humble success to three drivers- 1) Great Mentors, 2) Great Customers and 3) Great Peers. While the mentors (bosses & clients) encouraged me to make my choices, my customers were always a reflection of the worth of my work – With every seat on the table, with every step into the inner circle and with every new assignment outside my comfort zone, I kept growing and evolving. My peers have helped me stay grounded; I have learnt that it’s not about being superhuman, it’s really about coming together as a Superteam!

Early on in my career, I visited the US to meet my onshore counterpart, a fairly senior executive. While waiting to meet him in his cubicle, I noticed a big plank on his desk with three simple words etched “WHATEVER IT TAKES”. It was as threatening as inspiring and it’s been my motto ever since.

I am married to the love of my life, who I met as a teenager and we have an adorable son who keeps hinting that 7 is the new 12!
